Step #2 - Send them the right message, at the right time, in the right way to engage them.

So now that we’ve identify our potential buyers, how do we convert them into customers?

Well maybe you’ve heard of the idea of paid, earned, and owned media? To reach your audience you can use any of these channels. Paid channels include Facebook Ads and Google AdWords. Earned channels include others’ sharing your content on social media and SEO.

Owned media is the holy grail. These are your lists! What do I mean by lists? Your email list, your Facebook Messenger list, and your social media followers. It’s the group of people that have opted-in to receive communications from you.

If you think you need to become a master at retargeting ads on Facebook and Google you’d be completely mistaken!

The truth is you don’t have to spend a ton on ads or retargeting to re-engage these visitors who are mostly likely to buy.

In fact you can ensure you get the visitor’s email address or permission to message them on Facebook Messenger when they add an item to their cart.

So now these visitors are a part of your owned audience. You no longer have to pay anyone to reach them at the right time with the right message! You have a direct line to these folks ready to buy from you and in most businesses you can directly correlate their success to the size of their owned audience.

Growing your owned audience is essential to growing your Shopify store.

Send your shopping cart abandoners welcomed and helpful messages to remind them to complete their order.

Step #3 - Make it easy for them to take action and purchase (where ever they are).

So now you’ve identified who is ready to buy and how to reach them for practically nothing. Let’s look at the 3rd and final step.

Now I don’t know about you but when I’m looking to purchase something online I might look at it from my desktop computer...but then look at it again from my mobile smartphone.

Now if you’re thinking I’m the exception to the rule and that almost all purchases begin on the desktop and finish on the desktop you’d be completely mistaken!

In fact, all purchases don’t even start and finish on Shopify store websites!

The truth is that potential buyers from your store want it to be as easy as possible to complete their purchase on a new device or in a new channel.

That’s why it’s so important to make it easy for them to complete the purchase where ever they are. Whether they are viewing your site on their mobile phone or Facebook Messenger, make it as easy as possible for them to purchase and you’ll see an increase in sales.

If you can make it dead easy for your customers to pick their order back up and complete it, they will be happy and so will you.
